What You're Up Against
Sand Shape Level 14 challenges you to fill an 8×8 grid completely while working around a stationary brown T-shaped obstacle centered on the board. You have exactly 3 minutes and must place each of the eight given shapes—no overlaps, no gaps. Every shape arrives sequentially, and rotation is allowed but essential for correct fit.
Beating Sand Shape Level 14
- Place the green 1×4 horizontal rectangle in row 1, columns 1–4 (top-left corner).
- Position the purple L-shape in column 8, covering rows 1–6 and also columns 7, rows 1–2.
- Lay the light red 1×4 horizontally in row 2, columns 1–4 (directly below the green piece).
- Drop the yellow 1×6 vertical piece in column 1, rows 3–8.
- Place the pink 1×6 vertical piece in column 2, rows 3–8 (adjacent to yellow).
- Fit the blue L-shape at the bottom-right: columns 6–8, row 8 and columns 7–8, row 7.
- Add the magenta L-shape above it: rows 6–7, columns 4–7.
- Finish with the red 1×3 horizontal piece in row 8, columns 3–5—the last remaining gap.
Doing It Faster
- Scan the entire grid first—identify open zones near the central T before placing anything.
- Prioritize long horizontal/vertical pieces early; they define critical edges and reduce ambiguity.
- Rotate shapes before dragging—visualize fits in your head or test quickly to avoid backtracking.
- Anchor placements along column 1, row 1, and row 8 first—they’re high-leverage boundary spots.
Where Players Slip Up
- Skipping rotation: several L-shapes only fit when rotated correctly—especially the blue and magenta pieces.
- Placing pieces too deep too soon: trying to fill near the central obstacle before securing outer rows/columns creates dead ends.
- Miscounting coverage: the yellow and pink 1×6 pieces both occupy rows 3–8—confusing their columns (1 vs. 2) is a common error.
- Overlooking the timer: this walkthrough assumes efficient decision-making; hesitation on step 4 or 5 often leads to time-outs. The solution hinges on disciplined sequencing—not speed alone.
